December 2023 edition of TWS newsletter “The Italian American Trade Magazine” is out!

The December 2023 cover story of The Italian American Trade Magazine features an exclusive interview with Joseph Sciame, President of the Sons of Italy Foundation, about preserving Italian heritage and empowering communities. This ties into the issue's overall theme of strong bonds between Italy and the United States.

The magazine opens with a report on AmCham Italy's annual Transatlantic Gala held in Milan, which honored individuals and organizations strengthening Italy-US ties across business and culture. Attendees included leaders committed to bilateral cooperation.

Shifting to community engagement, the leadership of the Order Sons and Daughters of Italy in America (OSDIA) attended the Italian American Baseball Foundation’s gala in New York City. On the political front, a delegation of Italian parliamentarians met with US officials in Washington D.C. to discuss trade, defense and more.

Several articles highlight Italian culture and history. The National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) held its Arizona regional gala, honoring local Italian Americans. The Garibaldi-Meucci Museum on Staten Island celebrated its 35th anniversary. New York’s Piazza Italia and Palazzo Italia represent Italian beauty and spirit.

At the UN, De Cecco and chef Heinz Beck promoted Italian cuisine as culinary ambassadors. One article analyzes technological and socioeconomic changes in the "World 5.0” explained in “The World to come” book by Angelo Deiana and Carmelo Cutuli. In Palermo, the Orgoglio Made in Italy Award held by the OSDIA local chapter honored promotion of Italian culture.

The issue also reviews the new book “The Italy-USA Relations: From Diplomacy to Commerce” from The Watson Society. It concludes by showcasing Sicilian cartoonist Pietro Viola at AmCham Italy’s Transatlantic Gala. Together, these articles underscore the robust Italy-US bonds.
