The Watson Society Welcomes OSDIA Leadership in Rome

A delegation of top leaders from the Order Sons and Daughters of Italy in America (OSDIA) visited Rome this week and was welcomed by the OSDIA “Capitolo di Roma” Lodge and other organizations dedicated to Italy-USA relations, including The Watson Society.

The 15-member OSDIA supreme council delegation was headed by National President Bob Bianchi, Sons of Italy Foundation President Joseph Sciame, and Past President Joseph di Trapani.

During their visit, the American Italian leaders met with local chapters of the OSDIA and connected with groups like The Watson Society that promote strong cultural and economic ties between Italy and the United States.

Watson Society President Carmelo Cutuli stated, “We were honored to meet the distinguished OSDIA delegation. It is through gatherings like this that we can continue strengthening the bond between our two great countries.”

With over 60,000 members across the U.S., the OSDIA works to preserve Italian heritage and culture. The Rome visit allowed the supreme council executives to reinforce relationships here in Italy.

President Bianchi commented, “Our roots are in Italy, so it’s very meaningful for us to visit Rome and interact with the wonderful people here who do so much to foster the connection between Italy and America.”

The Watson Society was proud to be part of the receptions for the OSDIA leaders. Continued collaboration between our organizations will be vital to furthering Italian-American diplomacy, business, and cultural impact.
