IIC New York organizes a panel discussion for the VII Week of Italian Cuisine in the World

On the occasion of the VII Week of Italian Cuisine in the World, the Italian Cultural Institute of New York on November 15 at 6:30 p.m. will host a panel discussion entitled "Conviviality, Sustainability and Innovation: the Ingredients of Italian Cuisine for People Health and Protecting the Planet."

The event is organized in collaboration with the Generoso Pope Foundation and the Westchester Italian Cultural Center. The meeting will be opened by a welcome address from IIC Director Fabio Finotti. Keynote speakers will be Larry Forgione, chef and co-founder of the Culinary Institute of America's Farm-to-Table program (conviviality); Jami Ahmad, director United Nations Environment Program-New York Office (sustainability); John DeCicco Jr., ceo, DeCicco & Sons (innovation).

Master of ceremonies will be Mary Calvi, American News anchor. Special guest will be Italian tenor Luciano Lamonarca. A cocktail reception by executive chef Larry Forgione will follow. Reservations possible -in order of receipt- subject to availability. The VII Week of Italian Cuisine in the World-a week dedicated to the promotion of Italian cuisine-is an initiative launched by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs together with other agencies such as the Foreign Trade Agency and the Italian Cultural Institutes abroad.

Presenting Italy and Italian taste without borders, the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World is an annual initiative developed to promote Italian culinary traditions and food and wine knowledge as a distinctive trait of Italian identity and culture.
