Amcham Italy, Amerigo and Federmanager launch Transatlantic Investment Committee (TIC)

Established at the behest of the AMERIGO Association, the American Chamber of Commerce in Italy, the Center for American Studies and Federmanager the TIC is a program promoted in close collaboration with the diplomatic representations in the United States and Italy in order to strengthen ties between the two countries in the field of strategic co-investments envisaged by the Trade & Technology Council agreement signed by the European Union and the United States of America in September 2021.

Over the course of these months of work, the program has been enriched by the contributions of numerous stakeholders present at the Washington debate, including: Confindustria, LUISS University, Unioncamere, CEOforLIFE and under the patronage of the Conference of Regions and Autonomous Provinces.

On last October 28, the first US Meeting of the Transatlantic Investment Committee (TIC) was held in Washington, D.C., at the Embassy of Italy, with the aim of enhancing the TIC as the first relational platform at the Euro-Atlantic level on the issues of co-investments, which are key to increasing competitiveness as well as the strategic autonomy of Italy, the United States and Europe.

Doing the honors and opening the first U.S. Meeting of the TIC was Italian Ambassador to Washington, Mariangela Zappia: "In a geopolitical context in which relations between partners who share values and vision as Italy and the United States are more central than ever, we welcome and support the TIC as a strategic platform to foster joint investments, especially in the leading sectors of tomorrow's economy." Closing opening remarks were given by Andrea Gumina, president of AMERIGO and co-founder of TIC.

Among the main actions that TIC will put in place to foster economic trade relations is the creation of the first Transatlantic Investment Fund. This is a major allocation aimed at accelerating the growth of scale-ups operating in technology sectors (digital, clean-tech, energy, aerospace and biotech). It also includes the first Executive Master Degree, created in partnership between Luiss Guido Carli University, TIC, Confindustria, Federmanager and six international universities (including George Washington University, King's College and SciencesPo). And lastly, the realization of an Annual Report, which, in 2023, will be produced together with ISPI (Institute for International Policy Studies).
