"Grappa influencer" Francesca Bardelli Nonino among the America Award 2022 winners

The "America Award" by the Italy-U.S. Foundation, was conceived to recognize and stimulate initiatives and works aimed at fostering relations between Europe and the United States of America by awarding high personalities who have distinguished themselves for their work and achieved important results in favor of transatlantic friendship.

The art of cooking and the art of good drinking are icons of one of the historic ties between Italy and the United States. It is no coincidence that the awardees of this latest edition, at the Chamber of Deputies, included Francesca Bardelli Nonino, better known as "the Grappa influencer".

Francesca is representative of the sixth generation of the Nonino family, which, with the history-making distillery in Ronchi di Percoto, led by the stainless Giannola Nonino, with her daughters Antonella, Cristina, and Elisabetta, changed the history of Italian grappa, inventing single-varietal and giving a decisive push on the quality front.

With them, the Italy-U.S. Foundation also honored prominent personalities such as Chef Massimo Bottura, scientist Ilaria Capua, astronaut Umberto Guidoni, Apple senior vice president Luca Maestri, Oscar-winning composer Nicola Piovani, former president of the European Central Bank Jean-Claude Trichet, Undersecretary of State for Sport Valentina Vezzali, Ansa director Luigi Contu, showgirl Melissa Satta, fashion designer Veronica Etro and Alessandro Minuto Rizzo, former deputy secretary general Nato.
