VI Edition of World Week of Italian Cuisine 2021


"Tradition and perspectives of Italian cuisine: awareness and enhancement of food sustainability" is the theme of the sixth annual “World Week of Italian Cuisine” which will run from the 15th to the 21st of November 2021. The event is a worldwide initiative of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation aimed at promoting quality and heritage of Italian cuisine, as distinctive signs of our identity and culture, and at developing mutual trade and tourism.

The Consulate General of Italy in Los Angeles and Sistema Italia (ITA, IIC, Enit), in partnership with Eataly LA, will celebrate the week with virtual and in presence free events all over the city. In collaboration with IAMLA- Italian American Museum of Los Angeles, we will present the Documentary: "La Cucina Italiana in Los Angeles: an Italian, and American story".

An extraordinary journey through history of Italian presence and influence through food, made with delightful interviews at the most prominent Chefs and food historians in the city. The documentary depicts the path and the transformation of Italian cuisine in Los Angeles. Starting from the very first Italian immigration and the pioneers of Italian restaurant business in Los Angeles, arriving up to the present day: new restaurants, new chefs and the success of all of them.

In collaboration with Eataly, ITA and ENIT- Italian National Tourism Agency, the whole week will be a special occasion to purchase Italian authentic products with special prices and discounts, but there is more!

Starting November 15th through November 21st,2021, when you spend $75 or more at Eataly LA’s marketplace, you can become eligible to participate in a raffle offered by ENIT – Italian National Tourist Board and Lake Como, which consists of a two-night stay for two at the beautiful Hilton Lake Como with breakfast and a boat excursion on the lake followed by dinner. Other promotional events for the “World Week of Italian Cuisine” will include webinars, chefs’ presentations, cooking classes, tastings and dinners.
