Among the most significant data recorded by the agricultural organization, the one concerning the United States stands out, which, thanks to the pandemic, has become the largest consumer of Italian pasta in the world, obviously after ours: "thanks to the pandemic, the United States has become the largest consumer of Italian pasta outside the national borders, thanks to a record increase of 40%, overtaking France (+4.3%) and Germany (+16%). Excellent results were also achieved by Great Britain (+19%) in spite of Brexit". Also worthy of note are the growth performances of exports to other continents, with an increase of 39% in Australia and, in Asia, the leap forward of Japan (+16%) and China (+23%). Coldiretti concludes its analysis by pointing out that pasta has also grown in our country: according to the organization, Italians have increased their purchases in value by 10% in 2020, with peaks of 29% for that produced only with Italian wheat.
