Despite the commitment and determination in organizing the event, respecting companies, visitors, buyers and media and considering the health emergency caused by Covid-19, it was necessary to cancel the physical event of Mipel scheduled for March 2021.

This painful but inevitable decision was agreed together with all the organizers of the other Milan fashion fairs (MICAM Milano, TheONE Milano, LINEAPELLE and HOMI Fashion&Jewels Exhibition) originally scheduled from 20th to 24th March in FieraMilano-Rho exhibition venue: the current italian legislative provisions, in fact, prohibits fairs in attendance until 5th March 2021 inclusive and, if the possibility of organizing physical events should be reopened from March 6th, the quality and prestige level that have always distinguished these exhibitions will cannot be guaranteed. Moreover, also the significant incoming of buyers from all over the world that has made the fairs a global reference points will cannot be guaranteed. International health, travel and transport restrictions, would not allow thousands of visitors to reach Fieramilano Rho peacefully and safely.

We are sure that only together we can overcome this moment to reconfirm us in the coming months, once again, #strongertogether.

In the meantime, however, Mipel doesn’t stop and its 119th edition moves completely to digital starting from 21st March 2021 and hosted on a new platform will allow exhibitors to present the new proposals and FW21/22 collections, all enriched by moments of discussion, seminars and talks.

We hope that the 120th edition of Mipel (an important moment that will mark the 60th anniversary of the event), scheduled during next September 2021, will be able to return to being held in attendance and that we will be able to count on greater mobility also at an international level. thus allowing the restart of the sector starting from Mipel, with the hope and organizational commitment to return soon to the numbers that characterized the event in the past.
