The operation follows that of Pasta Evangelists, marking the international growth of the group from Parma. The agreement includes the Catelli, Lancia and Splendor brands, as well as the plant in Montreal, Quebec. Barilla's acquisition of the historic Canadian brand Catelli Dry Pasta marks the group's desire to intercept and anticipate new consumption patterns in the world changed by the pandemic.

Italy will remain at the center of Barilla's global development and innovation plan. In fact, the company will invest one billion euros in Italy over five years (2020-2024). This figure represents the majority of the group's investments and will be dedicated to strategic strands. Among these there is also the completion of the industrial plan in the pasta production sites and acquisitions in the Italian territory.

The one between Barilla and Catelli is a marriage between two historical realities of the food sector. The Italian family-owned company has set itself the goal of bringing food inspired by the Italian lifestyle and the Mediterranean diet to the world. Catelli, a palyer in the Canadian market with a 100-year history, is aligned with this commitment. Now these two iconic companies will join forces to jointly pursue a common vision and promote the consumption of good, healthy food.
