History of Italian Americans', a book curated by William J. Connell, Stanislao G. Pugliese and Maddalena Tirabassi.

On Thursday 5 March at 4 p.m. in the reading room of the Biblioteca Riccardiana in Florence the book Storia degli italoamericani (Florence, Le Monnier Università 2020), edited by William J. Connell, Stanislao G. Pugliese and Maddalena Tirabassi for the Italian edition, will be presented.

The book offers a fresco of the entire Italian-American experience, from the explorers of the New World to the new migrations, investigating with the numerous essays not only on the history of Italian emigration but also on the secular relations that have united Italy and the United States of America, through the continuous exchanges of people, objects and images conveyed over time through different sources and media.

After the greeting of the director Francesca Gallori, they will talk about the book Valdo Spini, president of the Association of Italian Cultural Institutions (AICI), Federico Romero, professor of History of European cooperation and integration after the war at the European Institute, Elisabetta Vezzosi, professor of History of the United States of America at the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy at the University of Trieste and Elvira Valleri of the Italian Society of Historians. Curators William J. Connell and Maddalena Tirabassi will attend the presentation.
